The Office of Code Enforcement is charged with enforcing all Ordinances within the Borough of Union Beach and has the responsibility of ensuring that all Local, County and State Ordinances and Regulations are observed and adhered to. This would include, but is not limited to, questions and complaints regarding Signs, Dwellings and Property Maintainance, Tenant/Landlord and Commercial Registrations, Change of Titles, Certificates of Occupancies, etc. Please see the links below regarding the Forms, Rules and Regulations needed to be in compliance with the Ordinances enacted by the Governing Body of the Borough of Union Beach and all County and State Applicable Laws.
 
Certificate of Occupancy
 
A Certificate of Occupancy is required for all rentals or sales of properties. This is to ensure that the premises is up to code and in a safe and habitable state for occupants. Please see the link below for the application and checklist of items that are checked during the CO inspection.
 
Tenant/Landlord Registration
 
Tenant/Landlord registrations are required to be renewed on an annual basis, whether the unit is vacant or occupied and at time of certificate of occupancy when ownership or occupancy changes. The annual registration renewal for each calendar year shall be completed no later than February 15th of the subject year. Please see the link below for the application.
 
Vacant Property Registration
 
Vacant properties are required to be registered with the borough, and property owners are required to keep the vacant property maintained and safe, in order to eliminate devaluation of neighboring property, health hazards, and crime related to existing abandoned, vacant and neglected properties throughout the borough.
